Excel Healthcare is currently seeking a Staff Nurse on a full time, permanent basis, for one of Ireland’s leading nursing home groups. This large nursing home which specialises in dementia care is located Dun Laoghaire, a beautiful coastal suburb in the south of Dublin.

This client’s focus and ethos is on person-centred care, which provides individualised care to residents with dementia. The unit creates a welcoming environment, encourages flexibility, and emphasises a natural flow to the day.

Responsibilities of a Staff Nurse:

• Assess, evaluate, plan and implement care to the highest standard in line with the values of our client.
• Provide patient centred care, promote independent and overall enhance the quality of life for all residents in the home.
• Establish and maintain effective communication between the residents and their families. Report any complaint to the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Supervise and teach junior staff, act as a mentor and preceptor.
• Effectively communicate with every member of the MDT and family members of all residents.

Requirements of a Nurse:

• Active NMBI Pin.
• Relevant experience within the Irish healthcare system.
• High levels of communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards.
• A qualification in Gerontology is desirable but not essential.
