Job: Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapist – Acute Rehabilitation
Location: Newcastle West, Co. Limerick
Hours: 35 hours per week (Full-time)
Salary: HSE Pay Scales (dependent on experience)

Excel Recruitment is recruiting hospital in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, to recruit a Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapist for their Adult Acute SLT Team.

Role:

• Work in a supportive, well respected HSE hospital in Newcastle West.
• Manage a diverse caseload with opportunities to specialise in neurological and complex swallowing disorders
• Access to regular clinical supervision and robust CPD programmes
• Be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team committed to patient-centred care
• Potential for career progression within a structured HSE framework

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat adults with communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
• Provide specialist dysphagia assessment and interventions to acute inpatients
• Work closely with patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, brain injury, and progressive neurological disease
• Collaborate with the MDT to ensure holistic and coordinated care
• Provide education and training to patients, families, and hospital staff
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and contribute to service development initiatives.

Essential Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy
• CORU registration (or eligibility)
• Dysphagia qualification(essential)
• Relevant acute care experience
• Experience in neurological rehabilitation, stroke care, and/or orthopaedics
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills
