Position: Permanent, Fulltime, 35 hour week.
Location: Sandymount or Leopardstown
Salary: €43,276 – €57,653
Annual Leave: 32 days annual leave plus 10 bank holidays per annum.

This exciting job opportunity to work within a well-established Children’s Disability Network Team in South Dublin, providing essential services to children and their families.
Role Purpose
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a speech and language therapy service including assessment, diagnostics and intervention as required to all children accessing the service, and will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children and families within the designated area.
The Team is a well-established and very experienced multidisciplinary team. You will work alongside an experienced specialist team of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.

Key Responsibilities
- Plans and organizes activities and necessary resources efficiently and effectively.
- Understands the importance of time management for themselves and in particular how this translates to organising their assigned caseload within a team.
- Demonstrates the ability to arrange and schedule activities.
- Deals with unexpected scenarios with persistence and flexibility to ensure the achievement of goals.
- Demonstrates sufficient clinical skills in assessment intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of children with a range of disabilities/developmental delays in children’s services.
- Is adequately aware of policy, legislative and professional requirements to ensure appropriate standards in their area of responsibility.
- Ensure that all records are up to date and available if required.
- Ensures that the needs of the service users are being adequately met by the speech & language therapy service provided.
- Engage in clinical supervision process to ensure evidence based interventions.
- Holds an appropriate and effective set of professional values and beliefs and behaves in line with professional standards as set down and relevant professional bodies.
- Make decisions in a well-judged and timely manner bringing all relevant information to bear.
- Uses logical analysis to break complex problems into their component parts.
- Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills in speech & language therapy relevant to children with a range of disabilities, to make a credible contribution to the service and to actively engage in service development.
- Collaborates and works in partnership with the child/parent/family/carer and all other relevant stakeholders to identify and achieve goals.
- Takes initiatives to move the service forward and shows a willingness to try out new ideas under supervision that add service delivery value.
- Shows enthusiasm and a high level of motivation in completing projects.
- Take responsibility for the maintenance and replacement of equipment and stock.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree in clinical speech and language therapy
- Full CORU registration
- Have a minimum of 1 year work experience as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Previous Speech and Language Therapy experience working with children with a range of disabilities including physical, sensory, intellectual and autistic spectrum disorder
- Must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland
- Full Clean Driving license and use of a car.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of inter/transdisciplinary team working
- Qualification in the management of Feeding, Eating, Drinking, & Swallowing.
- Specific training and experience in assessment of Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
- Experience in assessment of children who have a physical and/or sensory disability and/or intellectual disability.
- Experience of supporting children/young persons with life limiting conditions.
- Previous experience in a senior post.
- Experience of completing assessments under the AON process.
