Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Staff Grade Psychologist on behalf of a well-established and expanding Children’s Disability Network Team in Blanchardstown. This is a full-time, permanent position within a highly experienced multidisciplinary service that includes several Senior Psychologists, ensuring regular supervision, strong professional support, and a collaborative learning culture.

This new vacancy has arisen due to growth on the team.

You will be part of a dedicated team working to create brighter futures for children with complex needs and their families, while advancing your own clinical development within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Job Purpose:

As a Clinical Psychologist you will provide psychological assessment, intervention, and support to children and adolescents (0-18 years) with a range of developmental, intellectual, physical, and sensory needs, including autism spectrum disorder. You will also work closely with families and caregivers, providing guidance and support as part of an interdisciplinary approach to holistic care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the needs of children with disabilities and complex presentations.
  • Contribute to the development of individual family service plans (IFSPs) in collaboration with families and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, case discussions, and joint interventions alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, and other professionals.
  • Provide clinical input and consultation to colleagues within the team as required.
  • Support families through psychoeducation, counselling, and care planning to empower them in managing their child’s needs.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation and reports in accordance with best practice and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to service development, team learning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development activities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A recognised qualification at Doctorate level (or equivalent) in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
  • Overseas qualifications must be validated by the Department of Health at the time of application.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions including autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, and emotional or behavioural challenges.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of psychological assessments and intervention frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative working skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Full driver’s licence and access to a car preferred but not essential.
