Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 35-hour week

Are you a passionate and motivated Clinical Psychologist looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

We are currently recruiting a Staff Grade Clinical Psychologist to join a dynamic and highly supportive CAMHS team based in Ballymun. This is a 6-month to 1-year contract, with the opportunity to work alongside a well-respected and nurturing Principal Psychologist who is deeply committed to professional development and team support.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting young people and their families as they navigate moderate to severe mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adolescents presenting with complex mental health needs.
  • Formulate and deliver individualised, evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT-informed approaches, systemic and family interventions).
  • Engage in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute psychological expertise to treatment planning.
  • Provide psychoeducation, therapeutic input, and support to families and carers.
  • Liaise and collaborate with external agencies including schools, GPs, and social care teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate clinical records in accordance with professional and legal standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of clinical services and service improvement initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A recognised qualification at doctoral level (or equivalent) in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
  • PSI membership or eligibility for registration.
  • Candidates qualified overseas must provide evidence of validation by the Department of Health at the time of application.
  • A minimum of one year’s post-qualification experience (ideally with children/adolescents or within CAMHS settings).
  • Demonstrable experience in psychological assessment and intervention with young people.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and family systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload autonomously.
  • Full driver’s licence and access to own transport (preferred but not essential for this location).
