Excel Recruitment is proud to partner with a progressive Paediatric Primary Care team in Enniscorthy to recruit a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, child-centred occupational therapy assessments for children aged 9+ presenting with developmental, sensory, physical, or emotional needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions to support functional independence in areas such as self-care, handwriting, school participation, fine and gross motor skills, and sensory processing.
  • Work directly with children and families through clinic-based sessions, school visits, and home programmes.
  • Support children with a range of neurodevelopmental and physical conditions, including Autism, ADHD, DCD, intellectual disabilities, and other developmental or neurological conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualised intervention plans tailored to each child’s needs, goals, and environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, and Public Health Nurses.
  • Liaise with families, schools, SNAs, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated, holistic approach to care.
  • Provide parents, teachers, and carers with practical strategies to support therapy goals in daily routines.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with HSE and CORU standards and participate in service reviews, team meetings, and CPD activities.

Requirements

  • Hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist (essential).
  • Experience working with paediatric clients (placement or post-qualification).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development, sensory processing, fine and gross motor skill development, and functional daily living interventions.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a child and family-centred approach.
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for community and school visits).
