Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join an approved mental health unit based in Tallaght. This is a full-time, long-term agency opportunity within a welcoming and multidisciplinary clinical environment where professional support and development are strongly prioritised.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist with an interest in mental health to develop their skills within a structured, recovery-focused service, working closely with experienced colleagues across the MDT.
The Role
As a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist, you will deliver client-centred occupational therapy assessments and interventions to service users within an acute and/or rehabilitation mental health setting. You will be supported by Senior Occupational Therapists and work collaboratively as part of a highly experienced multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments addressing functional ability, daily living skills, cognition, and social participation.
- Plan and deliver evidence-based, recovery-oriented interventions aligned with service user goals.
- Support service users to develop and maintain independent living skills, routines, and meaningful occupations.
- Contribute to group and individual therapeutic programmes within the unit.
- Work closely with Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, and AHP colleagues to ensure holistic care planning.
- Participate in discharge planning and transition supports where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE and CORU standards.
Essential Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy.
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist (or pending confirmation).
- Interest in or experience working in mental health settings.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills.
- A person-centred, recovery-focused approach to care.
