Job Title: Staff Grade Occupational Therapist – Adult Primary Care
Location: Inishowen, Co. Donegal (Primary Care Services)
Contract Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Contract Duration: 1-Year Specified Purpose Contract (with strong potential for extension)
Salary: Aligned with HSE Staff Grade Occupational Therapist Pay Scales
Excel Recruitment are currently recruiting a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist on behalf of a well-established Primary Care centre based in Inishowen, Donegal.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who is interested in working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team to support adult clients in achieving optimal independence and quality of life at home and in the community.
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality, evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions for adults presenting with a wide range of physical, cognitive, and functional challenges. You will work collaboratively as part of a Primary Care Team to support clients in remaining independent and active participants in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of adult clients, including those with chronic illness, disability, or age-related conditions.
- Carry out functional and cognitive assessments in both clinic and home settings.
- Plan and deliver individualised, client-centred interventions.
- Participate in discharge planning and reablement programmes.
- Collaborate with Public Health Nurses, Physiotherapists, GPs, and support services to coordinate care.
- Contribute to team meetings, service planning, and quality initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and CPD activities.
Requirements:
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
- CORU Registration (essential)
- Previous experience working in adult rehabilitation, community care, or primary care settings is desirable.
- Excellent clinical reasoning, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Full clean driver’s licence and access to own transport for community visits.
