Job Title: Occupational Therapist – General and Medical Ward

Location: Tullamore

Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate Start Available

Salary: HSE Payscale – Competitive Hourly Rates Depending on Experience

Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a respected acute hospital in Tullamore to recruit a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Occupational Therapist eager to expand their clinical skills.

In this role, you’ll work with patients across general and medical wards. You’ll gain invaluable experience in a dynamic environment that supports continuous learning and professional development.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough OT assessments and implement individualised, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Lead on functional rehabilitation, adaptive equipment, and discharge planning
  • Deliver high-quality care across a range of clinical areas including medical, surgical, stroke, and frailty
  • Participate in MDT meetings, care planning, and patient education
  • Contribute to quality improvement, audit and service development initiatives
  • Supervise junior staff and support professional development where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, professional clinical documentation in line with HSE and CORU standards

Essential Requirements

  • CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience
  • Experience in an acute, hospital, rehabilitation or community setting.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt to a fast-paced hospital setting.
