Job Title: Senior Radiographer

Location: Kilkenny

Job type: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week.

Excel Recruitment are delighted to partner with a Hospital in Kilkenny to recruit a Senior Radiographer. We are seeking an experienced Senior Radiographer who is ready to embrace a role that blends flexibility with significant opportunities for career advancement.

As a Senior Radiographer you will enhance your current skills and be supported to develop further skills whilst also gaining valuable experience in supervision and leadership.

Responsibilities will include:

• Perform duties under the supervision of the Radiology Services Manager (RSM) and Clinical Specialist Radiographers.
• Lead the delivery of radiography services in a professional and efficient manner.
• Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive, patient centred service.
• Adhere to all departmental imaging protocols and ensure accurate identification of patient images.
• Rotate through all radiology areas as needed.
• Participate in the on-call service as required.
• Lead efforts in establishing and maintaining standards for quality improvement, ensuring compliance with existing standards and policies.
• Contribute to service planning and development and engage in service improvement initiatives.
• Participate in routine equipment inspections and quality assurance procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with current radiographic techniques and imaging developments; participate in in-service training as needed. Actively engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Support and participate in research projects and assist in training junior or less experienced staff members.
• Perform any other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager or Clinical Specialist Radiographer in the assigned area.

• Strong clinical and technical skills in performing and interpreting scans.
• Demonstrate ability to manage clinical and non-clinical situations
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a broad range of examinations
• Demonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers.
• Have proven ability to take initiative and work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
• Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required.
