Excel Recruitment an exciting opportunity for a Senior Physiotherapist to join a friendly Outpatient MSK and Orthopaedic service in Monaghan.

Job Purpose:

To provide high quality, patient centred Physiotherapy services to adults attending outpatient clinics with musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, fracture, and trauma-related conditions. The role will involve advanced assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation delivery, while contributing to service development and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Clinical Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver expert assessment and management of patients with complex MSK, orthopaedic, fracture, and post-trauma presentations in an outpatient setting.
• Develop and implement evidence-based, individualised treatment programmes to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Liaise with Orthopaedic consultants, GPs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and rehabilitation plans.
• Educate patients on self-management, exercise plans, injury prevention, and post-operative recovery.
• Monitor patient progress and outcomes, adjusting interventions as required.
• Provide support, supervision, and mentoring to junior staff and physiotherapy students as required.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in line with HSE and CORU standards.
• Actively participate in service audits, quality improvement initiatives, and CPD activities.

Essential Criteria:

• BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy (CORU registration is essential)
• Minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience, ideally with a strong background in MSK, Orthopaedics, or Outpatient physiotherapy
• Proven clinical reasoning and rehabilitation planning skills in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork
• Ability to work independently and manage a diverse outpatient caseload
• A flexible, proactive, and patient-centred approach to care
