Job Title: Senior Physiotherapist (Children)
Location: Galway City (Galway City East, Claregalway, Gort, Headford, Oranmore)
Contract Type: Permanent, part time 25 hours per week (option to increase to full-time for one year), pensionable role.
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Salary: Aligned with HSE Senior Physiotherapist pay scales-€63,279 -€74,509

Excel Recruitment is proud to partner with a Children’s Disability Network Team in Galway city to recruit a Senior Physiotherapist to join their team on a part time basis (25hrs per week). This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced Physiotherapists who’s passionate about working with children.

This team provides services to children aged 0-18 years with complex developmental needs, including physical, sensory, intellectual disabilities, and autism. Working within a Family-Centred Practice model, the team supports children across clinic, school, home, and community settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality physiotherapy assessments, diagnostics, and interventions.
  • Support children and families in reaching functional goals.
  • Work in close collaboration with other professionals in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide services across various settings: clinic, home, school, and community.
  • Engage in service planning and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

  • BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • CORU registration.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience, including work with children with complex disabilities.
  • Eligible for membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (or equivalent recognised by the Dept. of Health).

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Postgraduate training in Neurodisability (e.g., NDT/Bobath).
  • Experience in Postural Management, Motor and Tone Management, or Clinical Gait Analysis.
  • CPIP training, splinting/casting, and complex disability care.
