Excel Recruitment is proud to partner with a progressive Paediatric Primary Care team in Cavan to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist.
This is an exciting opportunity to step up into a Senior role within a well-resourced team.
Successful candidate:
- You’ll be joining a well-established team with two Senior Occupational Therapists
- This is a chance to influence service delivery, support junior colleagues, and shape paediatric OT care in the Cavan region.
- As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you’ll take a leading role in the delivery and coordination of paediatric services within a Primary Care team.
- You’ll manage a varied caseload of children aged 0-18 with complex needs, contribute to service development, support junior staff, and act as a key clinical resource within the multidisciplinary team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for children with developmental, sensory, and physical challenges.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to junior team members, including mentoring, supervision, and case consultation.
- Manage a complex caseload, prioritising care needs while promoting functional independence and participation in everyday activities.
- Collaborate closely with families, educators, and allied health professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
- Contribute to the planning and development of paediatric Occupational Therapy services within the team.
- Lead or participate in service audits, quality improvement projects, and best practice initiatives.
- Support staff training and the integration of evidence-based practices.
- Maintain high standards of documentation in line with HSE and CORU guidelines.
Requirements
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, ideally including paediatrics or community-based care.
- Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary team working and case coordination.
- Proven ability to manage a complex caseload and support service development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on family-centred care.
- Full clean driver’s licence and access to a car for community-based visits.
