Senior Occupational Therapist (Community)
Job Title: Senior OT Adult Disability Services – Immediate start
Location: Mullingar
Salary: In accordance with the HSE PayScale
Contract Type: Fulltime, 1 year contract
Excel Recruitment is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Intellectual Disability service, based at the Springfield Centre in Mullingar. This is a community-based post covering Longford/Westmeath areas.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your expertise, contribute to a progressive and dedicated team, and help improve the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities in a community-based setting.
You will work closely with another Senior OT and a dedicated team of professionals to enhance the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities across the Westmeath region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine clients’ needs, strengths, and goals.
- Develop and implement personalised intervention plans to enhance independence, daily living skills, and community participation.
- Utilise evidence-based occupational therapy techniques to address sensory, motor, and cognitive challenges.
- Provide clinical leadership in OT-related matters, ensuring quality and safety in service delivery.
- Offer mentorship and clinical supervision to junior therapists and therapy assistants.
- Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and other professionals to support clients in reaching their full potential.
Essential Requirements:
- CORU-registered Occupational Therapist.
- Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience, with at least one year in adult disability services.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues and service users.
- Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff is desirable.
- Full driver’s license and access to a vehicle are essential for this community-based role.
