Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist (Primary Care Services)
Location: Thurles & Templemore, Co. Tipperary
Contract: 1 year contract, fulltime, 35 hours per week

Excel Recruitment is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a well-established Primary Care Team covering Thurles and Templemore.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a community-based setting, providing essential Occupational Therapy services to adults requiring intervention to enhance their functional abilities and quality of life.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy interventions to adults within the Primary Care setting.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans to promote functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Provide intervention in areas such as self-care, mobility, housing adaptations, equipment prescription, and falls prevention.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Public Health Nurses, and GPs.
- Supervise and support junior staff, students, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring high standards of practice.
- Participate in the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives within the Primary Care team.
Requirements:
- Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
- Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year in a relevant area such as Primary Care, Community, or Rehabilitation.
- Strong experience in assessment and intervention planning within a community or primary care setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues and service users.
- Experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff or students is desirable.
- A full driver’s license and access to a vehicle are essential.
- Current residency in Ireland with the legal right to work without restrictions.
