Excel Recruitment are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic, Occupational Therapy team in a leading acute hospital in West Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, fast-paced environment where you will make a real difference every day.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Occupational Therapist to join a busy Occupational Therapy department in a hospital located 6 miles from Dublin city centre.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive team, gaining experience across a wide range of areas including Orthopaedics, Medical, Surgical, and the Medical Assessment Unit.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will provide expert assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for patients across a variety of acute settings.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will gain exposure and professional growth in a wide range of clinical areas, including: Acute Medical & Surgical Wards, Care of the Elderly, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Stroke & Neurology and Acute Rehabilitation Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute setting.
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualised treatment plans for patients in orthopaedics, medical, surgical, and the medical assessment unit.
  • Supervise and mentor junior Occupational Therapists and students.
  • Drive service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
  • Promote functional independence through rehabilitation interventions and discharge planning.
  • Educate patients and their families about therapy goals and progress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with hospital policies.
  • Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.

Requirements:

  • CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist (Essential).
  • A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, with at least 1 year in an acute hospital setting.
  • Strong clinical skills, particularly in orthopaedics, surgical, and medical rehabilitation.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively to an MDT.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment.
