Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior CAMHS Psychologist for a full-time, long-term agency contract based in Portlaoise, commencing in September.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, supporting young people with complex mental health presentations in a specialist CAMHS setting.
The role is a full-time, long term agency contract, with an anticipated start date of September. Previous experience in CAMHS, acute mental health, and/or eating disorder presentations would be highly desirable.
Successful Candidate:
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist psychological input to young people requiring mental health support within a CAMHS service.
You will bring sound clinical judgement, strong assessment and formulation skills, and the ability to work confidently within a busy multidisciplinary environment. A compassionate, calm, and practical approach will be essential in supporting young people with complex presentations.
Job Purpose:
The Senior Psychologist will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based therapeutic input to young people attending the service. The role will involve close multidisciplinary working, consultation, risk-informed clinical input, and contribution to care planning within a specialist CAMHS setting.
This role would particularly suit a Senior Psychologist with experience in CAMHS, acute mental health, and/or eating disorder presentations, who is seeking a meaningful long-term agency opportunity.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A Doctorate or equivalent qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
- Eligibility for professional registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland or relevant professional body.
- Ideally, at least 2 years’ experience at staff grade level.
- Experience working within CAMHS or acute mental health settings is desirable.
- Experience working with eating disorder presentations is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and liaise professionally with young people, families, carers, and healthcare professionals.
