Excel Healthcare is currently looking for a Mental Health Nurse to work in a HSE hospital in Wicklow. This role would suit a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse who is looking to gain experience in the HSE.

Responsibilities of this Mental Health Nurse job:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments.
• Regularly review and adjust care plans based on patient progress and needs.
• Provide psychoeducation and support to patients and their families.
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects and efficacy.
• Work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Report on patient progress, treatment outcomes, and any incidents or concerns to the appropriate authorities and healthcare team members.

Requirement of this Mental Health Nurse job:

• Hold a degree in psychiatric/mental health nursing or a general nursing degree followed by a postgraduate qualification in psychiatric/mental health nursing.
• Maintain current registration and adhere to the standards and codes of practice set by the NMBI.
• Valid work permission in Ireland ( hold a EEA/EU citizenship or have a valid work visa)
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and familiarity with various therapeutic modalities.
• Crisis intervention skills and the ability to handle psychiatric emergencies.
