Professionally Qualified Social Worker (mental health)
Job: Professionally Qualified Social Worker or Senior Social Worker – HSE Adult Mental Health Services.
Location: Longford/Westmeath Psychiatry of Later Life Services, St. Mary’s Hospital, Delvin Road, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
Contract: 12 month specified purpose contract- (Potential for Extension)
Salary: HSE pay scale for the Professionally Qualified Social Worker or Senior Social Worker
Excel Recruitment is delighted to recruit a Professionally Qualified Social Worker or Senior Social Worker to join a HSE Adult Mental Health team, in Mullingar.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Social Worker to gain valuable experience within an adult mental health team while making a meaningful impact on service users lives.
The successful candidate would work with community referrals, as well as inpatient referrals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality social work support to adult service users within the mental health service.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and safeguarding support for vulnerable adults
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated care
- Advocate for service users, upholding their rights and best interests
- Deliver therapeutic interventions, emotional support, and signposting to appropriate services
- Contribute to service development and improvements in policies and community outreach
Essential Criteria:
- CORU registered Social Worker (essential).
- Preferably has 3 years post qualifying experience to work at Senior Social Worker level
- Experience of working with adult service users
- Experience of working in a mental health service previously
- Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams and promoting good communications across the care setting
- Depth and breadth of experience in providing a social work services
- Excellent communication, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
