Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Staff Grade Medical Scientist to join a Multidisciplinary laboratory team within a JCI accredited hospital in Cork.

The successful candidate will be trained across several key disciplines including Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Microbiology, and Haematology.

This wonderful multidisciplinary laboratory provides the opportunity for all Medical Scientists to develop their skills and knowledge across disciplines and facilitates career progression.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, ideally in an Irish hospital environment.
  • Hold full registration with CORU.
  • Demonstrated experience in Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion, Microbiology, and Haematology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences from an approved University
  • Possess the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or the Regional Technical College, Cork awarded prior to 1994
  • Hold full registration with CORU.
  • Eligible for membership of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
  • Previous experience in Haematology, Biochemistry, Blood transfusion or Microbiology in a clinical laboratory laboratory setting in Ireland/UK.
  • Experience of ISO15189 compliance.
  • Patient centered and can-do approach.
