Excel Healthcare is currently seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing within a private nursing home just outside Dundalk, Co. Louth, which specialises in residential, convalescent and rehabilitative care.

This is a perfect career opportunity for anyone with proven management experience. This is a full-time permanent contract in a nursing home. As a Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing the provision of high-quality care to residents.

The ideal candidate for this role would have previous managerial experience, at a minimum level of ADON within the Irish nursing home system. This role will suit someone living in Dundalk and the surrounding area.

Responsibilities of a Director of Nursing:

• Managing and leading a team of healthcare professionals.
• Ensuring the highest standards of care are always provided.
• Work alongside the multidisciplinary team, including staff nurses and healthcare assistants, ensuring effective communication while demonstrating commitment to our client’s core values.
• Keeping the occupancy of the home at an efficient level by collaborating with various resident referrers and the Operations Manager.
• Participating in staff meetings and training.
• Managing the recruitment and onboarding of new staff.

Requirements for this DON job:

• Hold active NMBI Registration Pin.
• Proven managerial at a minimum level of ADON and decision-making skills.
• High levels of organisational and communication skills.
• A compassionate approach to care for the elderly.
• Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
