Excel Healthcare is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing for the Vaccination Programme in the Mid-West Region covering Co. Limerick, Co. Clare and North Tipperary. This 1-year Fixed Term Contract role will be based in Limerick City.

This is a perfect career opportunity for anyone with proven vaccine management experience looking for their next step. As a Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for all clinical staff on the vaccination programme including deployment and skill mix.

Responsibilities for this Director of Nursing job:

• Manages and leads a team of healthcare professionals.
• Oversee vaccine management in line with the current policies, guidelines and protocols.
• Plan and deliver a person centred, clinically effective and safe vaccination service informed by best evidence and population needs assessment.
• Establishing collaborative professional relationships and networks with internal and external health service providers.
• Identify, report and escalate as appropriate areas of clinical risk concerning the delivery and implementation of Health and Wellbeing Vaccination Programme.
• Creating a culture of continuous learning within the Vaccination programme.
• Preparing an annual report or more often as required on services and expenditure.
• Demonstrate experience in developing, implementing and evaluating nurse education and training programmes.

Requirements for this Director of Nursing job:

• Hold active NMBI Registration Pin.
• Have 10 years post registration nursing experience, with at least 5 years’ experience at a minimum of clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM 2) level, of which 3 years must have been in an area related to the community setting.
• Level 8 or higher post registration healthcare management qualification essential.
• High levels of organisational and communication skills.
• Proven track record of effective clinical leadership.
• Hold full, clean driver’s license and have access to own vehicle.
