Clinical Nurse Manager

A well-established nursing home in Athlunkard, Clare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse with strong leadership skills and a passion for elderly care to take on a senior position in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day clinical operations of the nursing unit in the absence of the Home Manager
  • Lead and supervise nursing staff, providing support, mentorship, and clinical guidance
  • Ensure resident care plans are monitored, reviewed, and delivered in accordance with individual needs
  • Manage staff rosters based on clinical requirements and resource availability
  • Conduct performance reviews and coordinate staff development initiatives
  • Ensure full compliance with NMBI standards, HIQA regulations, and internal policies
  • Promote a safe, caring, and respectful environment for residents and staff
  • Manage incidents, support audits, and implement improvements where needed
  • Maintain open communication with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team
  • Support the development of junior and newly qualified nurses, fostering continuous learning

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • Minimum 2 years’ management or supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Strong clinical knowledge and a proven ability to lead a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine interest in care of the elderly
  • Garda Vetting clearance (or willing to obtain)

Desirable

  • Formal qualification in gerontology or care of the elderly
  • Familiarity with HIQA standards and quality improvement initiatives
