Clinical Nurse Manager
Excel Healthcare is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager on behalf of a sub-acute unit in Dublin.
Our client is based centrally and facilitates over 120 patients over 3 floors.

Acute or sub-acute hospital experience is highly desirable for this full-time permanent position which may suit an experienced staff nurse looking to move into a management role.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing, assisting with all aspects of the day-to-day management of this HSE contracted unit.
Hours of work will be mainly Monday to Friday, day shifts.
Responsibilities of this Clinical Nurse Manager job include:
- Delivering person centred patient care
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care
- Preparing and administrating drugs in line with company policy
- Personal patient care
- Providing palliative care for dying residents and support for their residents
- The CNM will be acting up for the Director of Nursing in their absence or in an emergency.
- Planning and allocating of nursing teams with appropriate staff members, skill mix and levels of experience to meet the clinical demands and the continuity of care.
- The organisation of fair and accurate off duty rotas and co-ordinated holiday plans, other leave and parameters that apply to ensure that skills mix takes account of fluctuating workloads and maximizing available resources.
- Collaboration with the Director of Nursing in preparing, implementing, and evaluating budget and service plans within an agreed budget.
- Controlling the use of all supplies and the proper use of all equipment
- Identifying projected needs through constant floor inventories and estimate appropriate limits of resource.
- The Clinical Nurse Manager will be leading by example and demonstrating a strong ‘team ethos’ being always positive and motivational.
- Encouraging, training and guiding team while maintaining a happy environment
- Providing guidance and advice to all junior nursing and caring staff
- Supporting the Assistant and Director of Nursing in the day-to-day management of the unit
- Carry out regular risk assessments to mitigate clinical risks and prevent accidents, in accordance with company guidelines.
- Carry out appraisals in accordance with policy while liaising with the Training Coordinator to facilitate personal development plans.
What you need to be considered for this Clinical Nurse Manager job:
- Current NMBI Registration
- 5 Years of post registration experience
- Proven track record in Team Management and performance management
- A Minimum of three Years in Care of the Elderly
- Continuous Professional Development
- Ability to manage and motivate team.
- Experience in an acute hospital or residential care setting.
