Excel Recruitment is actively looking for experienced Catering Assistants for relief work in the Cork city & county location.

Your role involves the support and the delivery of high-quality food and customer service across various catering sites on a relief (as-needed) basis. We are looking for flexible staff available for mid week Monday – Friday shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and service of food and beverages
• Set up and clear down service areas, including dining rooms and counters
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in kitchen and service areas
• Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times
• Handle cash and operate tills where required
• Follow all food safety, HACCP, and health & safety guidelines
• Support stock rotation and basic inventory checks
• Work across multiple sites as required throughout Cork city and county

Person Specification

Essential:

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or food service (preferred but not essential)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional weekends
• Ability to travel to different locations across Cork
• Strong work ethic and reliability

Desirable:

• Food Safety / HACCP certification
• Experience in high-volume catering environments (e.g., schools, healthcare, corporate)
• Manual handling training

Working Hours

• Relief / casual basis (no guaranteed hours)
