The Heart and Vascular Department provides provides a comprehensive range of invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular services, and treatments including ECG, stress testing, ambulatory monitoring, device follow up clinics, transthoracic and transoesophageal echo, angiography, PCI, EP studies and ablation; pacemaker and ICD implants
The successful candidate
- Will work within with the multidisciplinary team in the Heart and Vascular department providing a full range of non-invasive diagnostic testing and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including ECG recording and analysis, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and exercise tolerance testing, ensuring accuracy and high-quality data collection.
- Assist in the performance of echocardiograms, adhering to departmental protocols and supporting accredited physiologists in line with BSE or EACVI guidelines.
- Manage assigned caseloads in a timely and organised manner, maintaining a strong focus on clinical excellence, patient safety, and quality of care.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including Cardiologists, Nurses, and other Allied Health Professionals, to facilitate timely diagnosis and effective patient management.
- Participate in ongoing training and supervision, both receiving and providing guidance to junior staff and students as appropriate.
- Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and effective working environment at all times.
- Support the department’s commitment to clinical audit, service improvement, and professional development by contributing to quality assurance initiatives and ongoing evaluation of diagnostic services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Clinical Measurement Science, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT)
- Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP).
- Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology (if qualified in or prior to 2005).
- The successful candidate should possess good interpersonal skills and an awareness/sensitivity towards patient needs.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage a high volume workload.
- An ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong IT skills
