Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Staff Grade Physiotherapist for an ongoing full-time agency role within a multidisciplinary community hospital in Phoenix Park, Dublin.

This community hospital provides specialist stroke rehabilitation to patients of all ages, inpatient rehabilitation for older people, and residential care for older people. As part of the multidisciplinary team, the Staff Grade Physiotherapist will manage a varied caseload across rehabilitation and older persons services. The workload will include assessment and treatment of mobility, balance, strength, transfers, gait, falls risk, functional independence and rehabilitation needs, with input tailored to each patient’s clinical presentation and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ mobility, strength, balance, gait, transfers, functional ability and rehabilitation needs.
• Develop and deliver individualised, evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
• Support stroke rehabilitation for patients of all ages, including mobility retraining, balance work, strengthening and functional rehabilitation.
• Provide physiotherapy to older inpatients requiring rehabilitation following illness, injury, surgery or a decline in function.
• Support residents in older persons care to maintain mobility, independence, comfort and quality of life.
• Complete falls-risk assessments and contribute to falls prevention and safe mobility plans.
• Recommend appropriate mobility aids and equipment and provide education on their safe use.
• Work closely with medical, nursing, occupational therapy and other multidisciplinary colleagues to support coordinated care and discharge planning.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and carers, providing practical advice and education.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to case reviews, team meetings and service reporting.

Requirements:

• A Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
• Current CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
• Previous physiotherapy experience in rehabilitation, stroke, older persons, acute, community or residential care is highly desirable.
• Experience assessing mobility, balance, gait, transfers, falls risk and functional ability is advantageous.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise effectively and work within the Staff Grade scope of practice.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing fully to a multidisciplinary team.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and completion of the required agency compliance and pre-employment checks.
