Senior Physiotherapist (Primary care adults)

Base: City East, Galway
Contract Type: Full-time agency contract
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: Aligned with HSE pay scales for the appropriate Senior grade.
Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Physiotherapist or experienced Staff Grade Physiotherapist for a Primary Care team in east Galway, Co. Galway.
As a Senior Physiotherapist within the Primary Care Adult Service, you will work with a broad range of adult clients in the community. This diverse caseload may include musculoskeletal conditions, falls prevention, mobility issues, neurological rehabilitation, and general adult rehabilitation needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as lead clinician in assigned areas and manage a complex adult primary care caseload.
- Provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessment, goal setting, treatment planning, intervention, and review for adults with MSK, neurological, mobility, falls-related, and rehabilitation needs.
- Deliver physiotherapy interventions across varied settings, including clinics, community settings, and home visits.
- Support clients to improve mobility, function, strength, balance, independence, and overall quality of life.
- Contribute to and lead on service development projects relevant to adult primary care physiotherapy.
- Support and supervise staff grade Physiotherapists, assistants, and students as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with clients, families, carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Document all client interactions in line with professional and departmental standards.
- Participate in case conferences, review meetings, and multidisciplinary discussions.
- Contribute to professional standards, best practice, audit, and CPD.
Requirements:
- Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
- Minimum of three years’ post-graduate Physiotherapy experience, with at least one year at Senior level preferred.
- Strong experience in adult community, primary care, rehabilitation, falls prevention, MSK, and/or neurological physiotherapy.
- Experience managing a varied adult caseload within a busy clinical or community setting.
- Ability to manage limited resources and high workloads while maintaining excellent clinical standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating leadership, initiative, and sound clinical judgement.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Full clean driver’s licence and access to a car for community visits.
