Excel Recruitment is proud to partner with Dublin South Psychology Services to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychologist to join its Child and Adolescent Primary Care Service. We are seeking Psychologist who are passionate about delivering high quality, evidence based care to children, young people and families in a supportive, collaborative and dynamic environment.
This role forms part of a broader waiting list initiative, with a particular focus on supporting those who have been waiting longest for assessment and intervention. The successful candidate will contribute to the routine provision of assessment, triage, consultation and therapeutic interventions for a range of developmental, behavioural and mental health presentations.
You will join a vibrant, skilled and multidisciplinary primary care team and will also be integrated into our wider Dublin South Psychology Service, an innovative service offering lifespan psychological support grounded in a layered care model, service evaluation, and evidence‑based practice.
About the Service
The Dublin South Psychology Service is a small but thriving team comprising Senior, Staff Grade, Trainee and Assistant Psychologists. They provide psychological support across mild to moderate mental health needs and developmental concerns including emotional, behavioural, social, neurodevelopmental, relational and attachment‑related presentations.
About the Service
You will join a small but vibrant psychology service made up of Senior, Staff Grade, Trainee and Assistant Psychologists, working within a layered care model offering:
- Individual and group interventions
- Standalone consultation appointments
- Universal and targeted psychoeducation
- Teen and Parent Advice Clinics
- Interdisciplinary work for more complex cases
Supervision is provided by the Principal Psychologist Manager.
Team & Collaboration
You will work within a Primary Care MDT including Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and a project coordinator. The team delivers integrated assessment, shared formulation, joint interventions and parent‑support initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Psychological assessment and intervention for emotional, behavioural and developmental concerns.
- Consultation and advice to families and professionals.
- Development of evidence‑based, child centred care plans.
- Delivery of group work, psychoeducation and interdisciplinary clinics.
- Participation in service development and quality initiatives.
- Provision of supervision to other staff.
Eligibility
- Doctorate (or equivalent) in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology or PSI‑chartered status.
- DOH validation for overseas qualifications.
- PSI eligibility for registration.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Strong assessment, formulation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently within an MDT.
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
