Job Type: Full-time, agency contract, 35 hours per week
Salary: HSE Pay Scale Applies, depending on experience

Excel Recruitment have a fulltime Staff Grade Physiotherapist position available in an Older Persons Rehabilitation unit in Trim and Navan. This is a chance to work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, providing high-quality patient care in a specialised rehabilitation setting.

You will join a dynamic team focused on restoring functional independence and enhancing the quality of life for older adults.

This full-time role offers the opportunity to join a busy, friendly, and dynamic multidisciplinary team, where you will further develop your experience in managing mobility impairments, cognitive difficulties, dementia care, and rehabilitation within a structured clinical setting.

The Role

As a Staff Grade Physiotherapist, you will work alongside Senior Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and a full Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed assessments of physical needs, including mobility, strength, and balance.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based rehabilitation plans tailored to patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or stroke.
  • Work closely with OTs, Nursing, and Medical staff to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Support patients within dedicated stroke rehabilitation pathways to improve functional outcomes.
  • Contribute to safe discharge planning and provide essential guidance to families and caregivers.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with professional and HSE standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Previous experience in a rehabilitation, or older persons’ setting is essential.
  • Experience or a strong interest in older persons is highly desirable.
  • Documented evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical reasoning skills, with the ability to thrive in a busy hospital environment.
  • Full clean driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for domiciliary visits.
