Senior Occupational Therapist (Child disabilities)

The Team & Opportunity
You will be joining a well-established team that benefits from the expertise of two experienced Occupational Therapists already on the team. This offers a supportive environment with strong clinical guidance, mentorship, and peer support.
- Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Meath or Drogheda.
- You will work with children (0-18 years) with physical, sensory, and learning disabilities, autism, and developmental delay.
- You will be an integral part of a collaborative MDT, including Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, and Psychologists.
- Regular training, Continuous Professional Development (CPD), supervision, and career development opportunities are provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and review of occupational therapy intervention programmes for children supported by the Children’s Disability Network Team.
- This is needs-based and focussed on achieving outcomes that are defined and prioritised by the child and their family through the Individual Family Service Plan meeting.
- Attend and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure integrated goal setting and support for children and their families.
- Prioritise caseload based on clinical needs of the child and as agreed with the family through an Individual Family Service Plan.
- Document all assessments, intervention plans, progress notes, and reports in accordance with professional standards
- Arrange and carry out duties in a timely manner within settings appropriate to service users and in line with service policy/guidelines.
- Maintain quality standards of practice and participate in quality assurance and clinical audit as appropriate.
- Become familiar with and work in accordance with relevant HSE policies, HIQA standards, Progressing Disabilities, legislation and professional policies, guidelines, and requirements to ensure safe practice and high standards of service delivery.
Essential Requirements
- BSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience for the Senior grade role
- Previous Paediatric experience is not required for the Staff grade role
- Membership (or eligibility) of the Irish Association of Occupational Therapists (IAOT)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
