Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist – Community or Acute Setting
Location: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Contract Type: 12-Month Agency Contract (with strong potential for extension)
Salary: HSE Payscale – Competitive Hourly Rates Depending on Experience

Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with our HSE client in Mullingar to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist.

We are looking for Experienced Occupational Therapists who aspire to excellence.

This role offers flexibility to work in either a community or acute hospital setting, depending on your skill set and preference. The client is particularly interested in candidates who bring a variety of clinical experience, including Rehabilitation, Older persons services, Orthopaedics, and Community based care.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to step into a senior role, join a progressive team, and make a real impact on patient care.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced OT assessment, treatment planning, and interventions in your area of specialisation
  • Support complex discharges, rehabilitation goals, and person-centred care plans
  • Collaborate effectively as part of an MDT across acute and/or community pathways
  • Lead service development initiatives and participate in audits and quality improvement projects
  • Offer clinical supervision and support to junior colleagues and students
  • Maintain high-quality clinical records in accordance with HSE and CORU standards

Essential Requirements:

  • CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience (HSE senior criteria)
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: community, orthopaedics, rehabilitation, older persons
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
