Job Title: Staff grade Occupational Therapist
Position: Permanent, Fulltime 35 hours per week.
Location: Coastal suburb, South Dublin
Excel Recruitment is proud to partner with one of Ireland’s leading disability services providers to recruit a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist. We are seeking a dedicated professional who is eager to support children with disabilities and join an established Children’s Disability Network Team in a vibrant coastal suburb in South Dublin.

Role Purpose:
The successful candidate will work as a key member of an inter/trans-disciplinary team providing services to children and families within the South Dublin region. This position focuses on delivering high-quality occupational therapy services, including assessment, diagnostics, intervention, and ongoing support for children with a variety of disabilities in an early intervention service.
You will collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Behaviour Therapists, and Psychologists.
The Team is a well-established and very experienced multidisciplinary team. You will work alongside an experienced specialist team of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, and Psychologists.
They offer access to formal and informal learning opportunities, support and supervision that encourages Therapists to be creative and innovative and to continuously develop their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and organising an assigned caseload of children aged 0- 18 years with physical, sensory and learning disabilities.
- Plans and organises activities and necessary resources efficiently and effectively.
- Understands the importance of time management for themselves and in particular how this translates to organising their assigned caseload.
- Demonstrates the ability to arrange and schedule activities.
- Deals with unexpected scenarios with persistence and flexibility to ensure the achievement of goals.
- Maintains a disciplined and professional level of performance under sustained or situational pressure.
- Demonstrates sufficient clinical skills in assessment intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of children with a range of disabilities / developmental delay.
- Is adequately aware of policy, legislative and professional requirements to ensure appropriate standards in their area of responsibility.
- Ensure that all records and technical data are up to date and available if required.
- Ensures strict compliance with health and safety standards and adheres to operational guidelines ensuring equipment is checked and working correctly in accordance with safety standards.
- To ensure that the needs of the service users are being adequately met by the occupational therapy service provided.
- Holds an appropriate and effective set of professional values and beliefs and behaves in line with professional standards as set down by the employer and relevant professional bodies.
- Make decisions in a well-judged and timely manner bringing all relevant information.
Essential:
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification. (Qualifications obtained outside Ireland, including the UK, must be validated by CORU before employment begins.)
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Membership or eligibility for membership of the Irish Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Clinical experience of working with children and their families as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in the area of disability
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Full driver’s license/access to a car is desirable.
