Excel Recruitment seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Care Worker to work for TUSLA residential services in Mahon, Cork. The role involves working directly with children and young people in a residential care setting, supporting them in achieving positive outcomes in their lives.

Responsibilities of this Social Care Worker job:

  • Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Develop and maintain supportive relationships with children and assist in their emotional, social, and behavioural development.
  • Implement individualised care plans and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support children in education, health, family contact, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to national child protection guidelines and relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements of this Social Care Worker Job:

  • Candidates must possess a recognised qualification in one of the below disciplines. Equivalent qualifications may be considered in line withTUSLA guidelines:
    • Level 8 – Psychology
    • Level 7 – Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy/ Addiction Counselling/Youth & Community Work / Social Sciences / Social Studies / Family Support / Disability Studies / Applied Behavioural Analysis
    • BA Applied Policing
    • Higher Certificate – Custodial Care/Teaching/Nursing
  • Must be hold appropriate right to work in Ireland ( EU Passport/ IPO/ Stamp 4 or 1G)
  • Experience working with children/young people in a residential, community, or educational setting.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Full clean driving licence (desirable)
