Excel Healthcare is delighted to be recruiting an experienced Physiotherapist to join a progressive community-based Respiratory Team in Cavan. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead pulmonary rehabilitation programmes, run respiratory and pulmonary clinics, and make a meaningful difference to patients living with chronic respiratory conditions across Cavan.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead respiratory care in a supportive community-based setting, under the supervision and mentorship of a Clinical Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist.
The Respiratory Service will support:
- To be responsible for the provision of a high-quality Physiotherapy service in accordance with standards of professional practice
- The development of an integrated respiratory model with the consultant and community teams.
- A holistic, multidisciplinary approach to the care of individuals with acute and chronic respiratory disease.
- Provision of a reformed inpatient & outpatient service that utilises telehealth and other ICT measures to facilitate more effective and efficient delivery of care.
- Timely access to specialist services and specialist opinion for patients with respiratory disease.
- Early intervention pathways/ rapid access clinics for acute, chronic, or newly presenting respiratory conditions.
- Development of pathways for the management of chronic conditions.
- To work with Physiotherapy Manager in ensuring the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred physiotherapy service across and between networks in the geographical area.

- Be a lead clinician in the Physiotherapy Profession and carry a clinical caseload.

- Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best practice.
- Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with client, family, and other team members as appropriate.
- Be responsible for standards of practice of self and staff appointed to clinical/ designated area(s)
- Provide a service in varied locations in line with local policy/ guidelines and within appropriate time allocation (e.g. clinic, home visits)
- Participate and be a lead clinician as appropriate in review meetings, case conferences etc.
- Seek advice of relevant personnel when appropriate/ as required.
- To provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy advice and support to multidisciplinary colleagues
- Develop strong links with the respiratory multidisciplinary team in both the hospital and community setting.
- Effective communication with patients, their careers, and relevant stakeholders to promote patient self-management in the community.
Essential Criteria:
- BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy.
- CORU registration (essential).
- Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience, including respiratory care or experience in acute/general medicine settings
- Demonstrated interest or CPD in respiratory physiotherapy (e.g. pulmonary rehab, airway clearance)
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and within an interdisciplinary team
- Full Driver’s License
