Excel recruitment is currently looking for a Healthcare Assistant to provide residential services for people with intellectual disabilities in Co.Mayo. As a Social Care Worker you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides the best possible care, supports and outcomes for service users.

Responsibilities of this Healthcare Assistant job:

  • Assist with the child/adults’ activities and care as assigned by the Manager and as indicated in the person’s Integrated Care Plan
  • Provide positive support and advocate for client’s rights
  • Ensure that all files are in line and ready for a HIQA Inspection at any given time
  • To act as an advocate for the child/adult and family ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support
  • Report changes noted in the child/adult’s condition/behaviour to the Manager .Engage with families, clinicians and building links in the community
  • To be aware of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment
  • Ensure personal care is provided to service users who require it
  • Flexible and willing to work shifts to meet the needs of the service
  • Adhere to GDRP guidelines at all times

Requirements / Qualifications for this Healthcare Assistant job:

  • Eligible to work in Ireland, EU passport or valid IRP card
  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar environment supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities
  • Full Irish manual driving license is mandatory
