What to expect:

The ideal candidate: Will have a strong background in psychological assessment, particularly in diagnosing Autism in Children.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children suspected of having Autism.
- Administer standardised assessment tools and utilise clinical judgement to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists etc., to gather comprehensive information and provide holistic assessments.
- Provide feedback and individualised recommendations to families regarding assessment results and intervention strategies.
- Be aware of and refer clients on to appropriate services as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessment results and suggested interventions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Work within limits of professional competence in line with principles of best practice, professional conduct, and clinical governance.
- Stay abreast of current research and best practices in Autism assessment and intervention
Essential:
- Master’s degree in Clinical/Educational Psychology recognised by Psychological Society of Ireland (or equivalent)
- Validation with the Department of Health and Children in Ireland
- Psychologist Level: 1 years+ post-qualification experience, working with children
- Senior Psychologist Level: 5 years+ post-qualification experience, working with children.
- Accreditation (Chartership or equivalent) with either PSI, BPS or other recognised post qualification accreditation.
- Specialisation or significant experience in Autism assessment and diagnosis. – Proficiency in administering and interpreting standardised assessment tools commonly used in autism diagnosis (e.g., ADOS-2, ADI-R, Vineland).
- Strong clinical skills, including diagnostic assessment, case conceptualisation, and treatment planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment with an openness to sharing ideas and learning from others.
